Labor Day Hike

On Labor Day we headed up to Mt. Baker, to walk around the Bagley Lakes area and also to go to Artist Point. Despite the somewhat cool wind and partly cloudy skies, we made the drive up into the hills with my parents right after lunch. When we arrived it was pretty chilly, but once we got moving on our hike, everyone was fine. We even had a respite when the sun came out and warmed us all while we messed around on the rocks by the creek near the Bagley Lakes and the Fire & Ice Interpretive Trail. By the time we headed up to Artist Point, however, everything was pretty socked in and there was no viewing of Mt. Baker or Mt. Shuksan. Too bad. Ed was happy though, because his main goal was to walk on the trail down by the creeks and lake again and that was lots of fun! View pictures here.
P.S. Notice that Picasa web albums have been updated - for those of you who use it. Looks like there are some new and powerful features to try out! :)

So beautiful. We sure miss the scenery of NW Washington.

Very pretty! I wanted to hike down to the upper Bagley Lake with my parents, but we didn't have time. I now need to see it after viewing your pictures :)
