S’more Goodness

No, this isn’t about roasting marshmallows and eating them up with chocolate & graham crackers, but it’s just about as much fun! This is about just a little more of the craziness that is December.

She’s a little excited for Christmas.

Aftermath of the wind storm. We invited locals to come over and get branches for their Christmas decorating, (yes, it was just a ploy to avoid having to pick it all up ourselves!) and the first neighbors that showed up brought a bunch of neighbor girls and they made a giant pile of the branches on the patio for me! More people came over the next week and gradually, through the month of December, what was left went out week by week in the yard waste.

We headed out on our annual looking at Christmas lights extravaganza with a new plan in place! I had heard about a light show on a house in Bellingham that had lights set to music, etc. Since we liked the light show on the Emerald Way house in Lynden so much in years past, I thought it would be great to go see this one. The plan was to pick up pizza and eat it in the van while we watched the show, then drive through another neighborhood famous for lots of lights before heading to the mall to allow the girls to do their Christmas shopping. Everything went great…except that the house with the light show was a HUGE disappointment! It was not even close to as cool as the house in Lynden. We stayed just long enough to eat the pizza and then we were off. We went to the James Street estates to see their lights (a lot of REALLY tacky lights, but it definitely shows a lot of Christmas spirit!) and then to the mall. It really was still a fun & memorable evening out!

While we were shopping, Elise & I had to try out these massage chair inserts. Pretty cool, but don’t buy me one, okay?

We had an awesome time at the Logos Christmas party this year! It was at Semiahmoo and there were several rooms to sit in and they all had different types of appetizers, finger foods, desserts, and more. Different entertainment was happening in each room and we chose to sit in the room with the string quartet. We sat with several couples we knew well and just really enjoyed the music, ate way too much free & delicious food, and had lots of laughs.

They didn’t win any prizes, but they sure were cute!
