Independence Day!

This year we had beautiful weather on the 4th of July and berries hadn't started yet, so we were free to take off for the day and have some family time! We headed to Washington Park in Anacortes, because anything near the water always makes me smile. We packed a picnic lunch and headed out early to beat the crowds and it turned out to be a practically perfect day!

We played games on the beach for a while, soaking in the warmth of the sun and even watched a seal out by the dock for a while. We ate lunch, the girls (yes, all of them) played on the park playground and I think their squeals could be heard across the bay!

There was digging for beach glass, wading, goofing around, & exploring.

The 4th of July is the anniversary of our first date, so I always feel like we need to do *something*, since we share a milestone with America & all.

We could have never predicted the beauty that these 4 girls would bring to our lives, 26 years ago on our first date, but I'm sure thankful that God brought us together & kept us together so that we could experience parenting them together.

It was a glorious day in one of my favorite places, with all of my favorite people.
Thankful.
Blessed.
Grateful.
