More Centennial

Just a few more pictures from the LC Centennial Celebration last week:

_MG_5575 In the student lounge area of the high school, some very creative people had set up displays of all things LC and school-related for the last 100 years. My girls were especially enamored with the old desks and typewriters…just like their mama (though you notice Sarah chose the desk with the laptop). There were many more displays with old letterman jackets, sports memorabilia, banquet dresses from the 60’s all the way through 2010, and so on. It was an absolute delight to browse among all the “stuff”.

_MG_5582 Dad was invited to sing in the Alumni Choir at the worship service on Sunday. He got to sit next to and sing with his old pal, former principal, Ron Polinder.

_MG_5591 _MG_5589 The choir sang two songs, the most memorable of which was the song written for our school’s centennial by Alum Ben Kornelis. Beautiful hymn. The choir sounded great under the direction of former LC director, Del VandeKerk.

It was too bad that more of our family and some old friends couldn’t be here for the event, but we know that they were here in spirit.
