framily

[fram-uh-lee, fram-lee] noun, plural fram·i·lies

:a basic social unit consisting of parents and their children, along with other parents and their children, between which no common genetics can be found, considered as a group, whether dwelling together or not: the traditional framily.

So, basically: friends with whom you are as close as family.

We are blessed to have some family nearby, but because there are no blood cousins nearby, we have had to find framily cousins. We have been blessed to find many. One of those sets just recently added a tiny little blessing to their family.

He’s the sweetest thing.

It doesn’t matter how long it is between visits with these framily members, everyone just always picks right up where we left off. Ed & I sat and talked with the parents for a couple hours while the big kids did this:

…and the little kids did this…

…that’s acting goofy, in case you weren’t sure.

Later on, all the big kids and little kids together started playing freeze tag outside in the dark and by the time we left they were all dirty, tired, and happy.

And that’s the way it should be at the end of a summer day. Especially with framily.
