As I continue to play catch-up here on the blog, the next “big thing” on the list is actually an entire DAY! July 28 was a pretty big day for the Ball family – a definite highlight of the summer!
First off, I took pictures of this adorable family while they were visiting:
While these friends were up visiting, we had 3 separate opportunities to spend time together. It was SO GOOD to have time with these dear friends! Tam & I were able to have a day out “treasure hunting”, the kids had a playdate while we sat & chatted, and we spent much of the Logos Picnic with them! In fact, we went straight from the photo shoot to the annual Logos Company Picnic, which was at the same location!
The highlight of this year’s picnic was the acrobatic-bungee-thingy. That’s the official name, I’m sure. At any rate, I’m convinced we have future Olympic gymnasts on our hands after that.

Becca doing flips
Sarah & Bethany performed flips also, but I missed those photo-ops, unfortunately….though they’re probably glad I didn’t have the camera out at that point! The picnic was a great success with 500 people in attendance, a bungee run, rock climbing wall, jumpy house, ice cream, Woods coffee, Shave Ice, Jake’s Western Grill catering, chocolate-dipped cheesecakes, and a photo booth! Most of you will have to wait for a Christmas letter to see our pictures from that…but it was super fun!!
We took pictures of our Arizona friends as we said good-bye. We’ll miss them, but hope to see them within the year!
After the Logos picnic, we went straight to our church small group family outing at a nearby lake for some water fun!
(Warning: there are a lot of pictures here, but they’re super fun, at least to me. We did do other things at this outing, such as soak up the sun, eat dinner, chat, roast marshmallows for s’mores, and fully enjoy each other’s company…but somehow I missed those photo ops).
At this point in the waterski lesson, Sarah was exhausted, so we went in and had some dinner and a break. After dinner she headed back out (this time with Ed and no camera in the boat) and popped right up on the first try and skied for a looooooong time! And her mother missed it! But she was beaming!
It was definitely one of the best days of summer…for all of us!
