The Razz Fest

I have a fair bit of catching up to do here on this blog, so now that I’m feeling somewhat better, let’s get started!

In the middle of July, our town hosts a Raspberry Festival, which includes a 3-on-3 basketball tournament on the main street through downtown. Why basketball at the Raspberry Festival? I don’t really know, except that basketball and raspberries are two of the biggest things in this town…and one of the local berry growers was also big into basketball and the tournament is named after him. Whatever. We go with it and we always go to the “Razz Fest”, as it’s called…who can resist $1 raspberry ice cream sundaes, street vendors, other treats, and sunshine? But we’ve never been involved in the basketball tournament part of it before. This year, the mom of Becca’s BFF wanted to coach a team and asked Becca to play. The girls really had a lot of fun and it was great fun for us to watch them play and learn together!

They didn’t win any games, but they had a couple of close ones.

Of course we still enjoyed strolling through the festival and enjoyed those raspberry sundaes!
